Advocate. Educate. Differentiate. That is NAIFA's Membership Promise. The Insurance and Financial Advisors Political Action Committee, IFAPAC, allows contributors to combine their financial support to candidates who understand and support our industry. IFAPAC, is a crucial tool to ensure that NAIFA can advocate on the issues important to our members.
NAIFA MT IFAPC has been able to have a strong and positive impact on the legislation that impacts our industry, advisors, and clients in Montana. With our full time lobbyist Bill Warden, we are able to work successfully across party lines for the benefit of all. YOU can make a difference in your financial career in Montana by your contribution to NAIFA MT's IFAPAC. For more information contact NAIFA MT member Dan Rust
Grassroots: Nothing matters more to a member of Congress than how his or her constituents feel about issues. That old adage about the customer always being right is even more true with elected officials. Their customers – the voters – are always right!
That gives you a lot of clout! Clout that can have a big impact on matters that affect you and your clients. There is frankly no better spokesperson for our industry than a concerned NAIFA member who can explain how an issue will impact his or her business.
There is a way for insurance agents and financial advisors to get involved and deliver the industry’s message to Congress - joining NAIFA's grassroots program! NAIFA grassroots has demonstrated that when advisors work together they can make things happen in Washington. Many NAIFA members have become informal advisors to their representatives on industry matters. Others have become campaign workers, finance chairs or even run for office themselves. All share one thing in common: they believe in the democratic process, and they know they can make a difference if they just get involved.
APIC: NAIFA's Advisors Political Involvement Committee (APIC) oversees a database of thousands of insurance agents and financial advisors who have volunteered to be part of NAIFA's nationally-recognized legislative action team. When federal legislation hits a crucial point in the process on Capitol Hill, NAIFA activates its contact system. Agents and advisors around the country communicate NAIFA's message on Capitol Hill about issues that affect their livelihoods. This contact takes place in the form of letters, faxes, phone calls and face-to-face meetings in congressional districts and in Washington, D.C.
You have the means to protect your business livelihood. All it takes is your involvement and participation. In the words of former Sen. Thad Cochran, "If you don't help shape legislation by providing your input and expertise to your elected officials, you can be sure that someone else will."
Your involvement in APIC assures that elected officials will hear your views on critical issues.
